Photography – internet – cultural heritage

Abstract

The article has as its core the copyright of the photographer, as it pertains to the Internet and its protection in the areas of cultural heritage and public interest. The evolution of photography is analysed from its beginnings, still as a mere invention and technique, until it established itself as art, focusing on the legal developments associated with it. The Internet is also studied as to its nature, necessarily oriented towards the right to information, with a discussion of the copyright question regarding photographs made available on it. Finally, the work focuses on cultural heritage, particularly with regard to the inventory and the registration of this intangible asset, defending the function the photographer may perform in the public humus relating to the documentation and dissemination of Brazilian cultural diversity, without prejudice to copyright.
