Thinking about academic plagiarism, would this be a lack of ethics in the search for appearance?

Abstract

Plagiarism is a recurrent topic in various educational and scientific research spheres, either as the research or as a deed. Here, we understand this issue as a manifestation of the lack of ethics, analyzing it since the dawn of modernity, and in current issues. With the improvement of the technologies, the internet has become the most expressive among them. Due to misuse of this technology as a tool that assists in the search for knowledge, plagiarism has become increasingly frequent in various levels of education and research. Analyzing the hard path that leads to knowledge, which requires much dedication and intellectual abstraction, there are some people who have tried to obtain this knowledge without making much effort, through illicit and not very safe deeds, in order to pretend to possess such knowledge, when in fact they did not. For this purpose, these people plagiarize the academic works which are requested to them. Thus, they lose the opportunity of being evaluated for their own production and solely own the appearance of possessing the knowledge they do not have. In this grounding, we have used ideas by Plato, Aristotle, Francis Bacon, Rene Descartes, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Walter Benjamin and other thinkers.
