Heidegger Being Unveiling Metaphysics Art

Abstract

Heidegger realizes that metaphysics, as a project to elucidate the meaning of Being, rather than clarifying it, merely reveals the entity (ente), thus showing that understanding cannot be the guiding thread of a deeper reflection. Heidegger then abandons metaphysics and seeks in art the revelation of Being. We must go to the essence of art to find Being. But the essence of art is hidden in the work of art. So what is a work of art? The problem is that a work of art can only be understood if we have understood beforehand the essence of art. This research is inspired by Heidegger's work Caminhos de Floresta (Holzwege).
